Maybe talks have moved on to bigger fish - Sam Reinhart.
Buffalo has Eichel and O'Reily as their top 2 C's, could make sense.

Reinhart is like RNH (who i also think would be a good fit for Vancovuer), similar size, similar age, similar pedigree, from Vancouver, buried behind better C's, would fit well on the Canucks.

Only difficulty is coming up with something we have, that they want.

Defense was our depth, but, as per usual, the injuries are mounting and we need that depth just to fill our the roster.

Biega will be playing in no time.

Personally I'd rather have RNH because he has NHL skating ability where as Reinhart does not. Plus, a little less than half of Sam's goal production comes on the PP, 5vs5 he's not outstanding by any means.

Thanks Carol. I hope the trade JV talk will not lead to anything. Giving up on a 20 year old power forward who's a local kid is bad in so many ways. Just for the rebuild sake it won't help.

If a move is going to be made with Buffalo any other player in Utica would be welcome as trade bait. Of course that wouldn't be enough if Buffalo is open to parting with Kane or Reinhart. So does Buffalo see value in taking a vet? Are noteworthy assets Tanev and Hanson too much? Not what Buffalo needs?

There is talk that Buffalo needs scoring and has defensive openings. So would a package of Subban and Hansen be attractive enough to get a young player like Rienhart or a troubled but skilled young vet like Kane?

Giving up anything for Kane scares me. If Benning trades for him any benefit of the doubt for I give him will be gone and I will be on the #firegmbenning train.

Subban has very little value and hansen is not worth a recent 2oa pick.

If Benning trades for Kane, it would be proof that FA is still very much in control of this team. If that is the case why fire Benning? I would rather Benning continue to draft and ruin this team through trades than get a GM who still ruins this team through trades but can't draft. Fire the owner.

If FA is pushing/making for certain trades, may as well keep JB for his drafting.

Does anyone know how to run an owner out of town? not going to the games isn't going to work. They will always sell enough to be profitable, plus with profit sharing in the league, FA is always guaranteed money every year.

I find it hard to believe that FA is doing more than we know. The Gudbransen trade imo was a great move by a GM. I dont think FA had any hand in that.

Yeah Subban is a reach for the fences project. But small quick offensive D types are getting more play in the NHL. A team missing this in their line up wanting offense from D without the number one D stud so many covet could value him.

Hansen is your ultimate versatile two way plug and play forward. His value is making lines work in any role.

So yeah Reinhart is probably a wish list reach. But maybe a team stacked with young centermen he isn't expendable? Maybe for him throwing in a 2nd round draft pick may work?

But most likely Kane is the risk that gets it done. He's younger then Hansen and adds a higher skill set. But then Hansen's intangibles and great character would be missed. Plus he plays for less. Tough call at this point. There is a lot of animosity over Kane's character.
